Château Moulin de Blanchon is a winegrowing estate located in the commune of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne. It is owned by the Négrier family. Henri Négrier, the founder, and his children, Sylvain and Vincent Négrier, are involved in managing the estate. The consultant oenologists are Antoine Médeville and Thomas Marquant.
History and philosophy
The Château Moulin de Blanchon vineyard was established in the 1970s. Henri Négrier acquired his first parcel of vines in 1978. After being a member of a cooperative cellar until 1990, the Château Moulin de Blanchon brand was created in 1992. The EARL (Exploitation Agricole à Responsabilité Limitée) was established in 2000. The estate was awarded Cru Bourgeois status in 2010. Founder Henri Négrier retired in 2018, and the property has since been managed by his children. The estate was granted Cru Bourgeois recognition for its 2011 and 2016 vintages.

Planting density is 8,000 vines per hectare. The average age of the vines is between 40 and 50 years. The grape varieties planted are predominantly Merlot (50%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (49%), rounded off with 1% Petit Verdot.

The estate's main cuvée is Château Moulin de Blanchon, a red wine. The second wine is named Château Les Hauts de Gadet. The blend is traditionally made up of equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Vinification and ageing
Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with maceration lasting around one month. The wines are aged in oak barrels for 12 months. Fining is traditional, using egg whites. Production of the main cuvée stands at around 150,000 bottles.
