The history of Château Plaisance dates back to the 18th century, with a manor house that once belonged to the former Bordeaux restaurateur Dubern. In 2005, Philippe Magrez took the helm of the estate, carrying forward a family tradition in the wine world.

The vineyard (terroir)
The Château Plaisance vineyard spans an area of 23 hectares, with vines averaging around 20 years of age. The terroir is characterised by clay-silt soils. Cabernet Sauvignon is planted on sandy-gravel soils, whilst Merlot thrives on clay soils. The parcels benefit from southern exposure. The grape variety mix consists of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
