The vineyard (terroir)

The vineyard is established on a limestone plateau. It enjoys an ideal exposure, benefiting from plenty of sunlight and the moderating influence of the river. The estate does not purchase external grapes.

Flagship cuvées

Château de Plassan produces still red wines. Among its cuvées are wines crafted under the Cadillac-Côtes-de-Bordeaux appellation, notably the « Château de Plassan - AOP Cadillac Côtes-de-Bordeaux - Rouge ». The principal grape varieties for the red wines are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. A dedicated cuvée, « In Memoria Palladio », is crafted from Merlot (75%) and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The estate also produces still white wines under the Bordeaux blanc or Cadillac appellations. These are made predominantly from Sauvignon Blanc, complemented by Sauvignon Gris (20%).
