History and philosophy

Château Saint Ferdinand was established in 2020, when Noémie Tanneau took over the estate. Previously, Annette Bion had farmed the vineyard for some thirty years, followed by a dormant period of nearly a decade. An agricultural engineer by training, Noémie Tanneau took charge of the estate in 2020. The property is committed to an eco-friendly approach, holding certifications in organic viticulture and Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE).

The cellar door is open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and on Sunday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Visits and tastings are available year-round by appointment at a rate of €10 per person. The estate accepts payments by debit/credit card, cash, and cheque. Accommodation services are available, including a “Van et Vigne” eco-campsite for campervans and motorhomes at €10 per night (the second night is free), as well as space for tents. Farmstead picnics are also offered for €25. The estate features visitor parking, toilets, and can accommodate groups. English is spoken and pets are welcome.

Vinification and ageing

Vinification and ageing at Château Saint Ferdinand involve stainless steel vats for 50% of the production, alongside oak barrel ageing. A quarter (25%) of the wine is aged in one-wine barrels and older, and 25% in new oak barrels. The harvest is carried out mechanically.
