\nThe Château Andron vineyard covers an area of 7 hectares. It is planted on soils composed predominantly of gravel, alongside clay-limestone parcels. The terroir is notably characterised by a gravel-capped knoll facing the estuary.
\nThe grape varieties consist of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot. The average age of the vines is 35 years. Vineyard management is carried out on a parcel-by-parcel and variety-by-variety basis, allowing for a precise approach to each lot.
\nFlagship cuvées
\nChâteau Andron Blanquet is a red wine crafted from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. For even-numbered vintages, the bottle dressing is white, whereas for odd-numbered vintages, it is black. This wine is intended to be cellared for around five years. A cuvée named \"Confidential\" is also produced by the estate. It is produced discreetly in selected vintages, in limited quantities.
\nVinification and ageing
\nVinification takes place in open wooden vats, following the Burgundian method, with parcel and variety segregation. Ageing takes place in French oak barrels for a period of 18 to 24 months. Around 20% of the barrels used for ageing are new.
