Château Bedrenne is a winegrowing estate located in Lalande-de-Pomerol, in the Gironde. It is currently owned by Rémi Bedrenne, who represents the fifth generation of winegrowers at the helm of this family-run property.

History and Philosophy

The history of Château Bedrenne spans five generations, bearing witness to enduring family continuity in viticulture. The estate is dedicated to an environmental approach, substantiated by certifications such as Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) Level 4 and ISO 14001 certification, awarded in 2019. These commitments are notably reflected in the planting of hedgerows in partnership with the ONCFS, aimed at strengthening biodiversity throughout the vineyard.

The Appellations

Château Bedrenne produces wines under several appellations, including AOP Lalande de Pomerol, AOP Montagne Saint Emilion, and AOP Bordeaux Supérieur. The area dedicated to the Lalande de Pomerol appellation covers 7.30 hectares.

The cellar tasting room and shop is open Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The estate offers tastings and tours. Wine tourism experiences include the tour "De la terre au verre" ("From the Earth to the Glass"), which explores the stages of vinification and ageing, and "Vins & Saveurs : Initiation Œno & visite de vigne" ("Wines & Flavours: Wine Tasting Initiation & Vineyard Tour"), which includes a guided walk through the vines detailing farming methods and environmental initiatives. The estate can accommodate wine tourism groups of 30 to 40 people.

The Vineyard (Terroir)

The Château Bedrenne vineyard covers a total area of 13 hectares. The plots located within the Lalande de Pomerol appellation benefit from well-drained soils balanced with organic manure, combined with the use of low-vigour rootstocks. These characteristics support optimal vine management.

Signature Cuvées

The estate offers red wines crafted from the Lalande de Pomerol, Montagne Saint Emilion, and Bordeaux Supérieur appellations. These wines are produced with deep respect for the distinct characteristics of each terroir and the estate's viticultural practices.
