The Vineyard (Terroir)

The vineyard spans a total surface area of 14 hectares, comprising 10 hectares of directly owned land and 4 hectares under leasehold. The soils consist of sand and fine gravel. The vineyard's grape varieties are predominantly Merlot (70%), complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) and Cabernet Franc (5%). The vines have an average age of 15 years. All inter-rows are grassed over, and planting density is 5,000 vines/ha, with a row spacing of 2 metres and a trellising height of 1.30m.

Flagship Cuvées

Château Haut Couloumey produces several red wine cuvées. Cuvée Manon is aged for 18 months in new oak barrels. Cuvée Méline, predominantly made of Merlot (80%), is also a red cuvée. A Bag-in-Box (BIB) cuvée is also available.

Vinification and Ageing

Vinification is carried out using traditional methods. The wines are aged in small-capacity stainless steel vats, particularly for plot-by-plot selection. Cuvée Manon benefits from 18 months of ageing in new oak barrels.
