Identity
Château Labégorce is located in the commune of Margaux. It is owned by the Perrodo family. Nathalie Perrodo manages the estate, with oenologist and agricultural engineer Marjolaine Maurice de Coninck serving as General Manager.
History and Philosophy
The Labégorce estate dates back to 1332, documented as the "Maison noble de la Bégorce" in the 14th century. The current château was built at the end of the 18th century and is mentioned in Édouard Féret's 1868 edition. In 1989, Hubert Perrodo acquired Château Labégorce. During the 2000s, the Perrodo family expanded their winegrowing heritage by acquiring Château de l'Abbé Gorsse de Gosse in 2002, followed by Labégorce Zédé in 2004. Following Hubert Perrodo's death in 2006, Nathalie Perrodo-Samani took the helm of the family properties. Starting with the 2009 vintage, the vineyards of Labégorce and Labégorce Zédé were merged into a single entity under the name Château Labégorce.
Committed to continuous improvement, plans for a new vinification facility began in 2016. Construction of a new vat house and barrel cellar took place between 2017 and 2019, with the 2019 vintage being the first to be crafted there.

Flagship Cuvées
Château Labégorce produces still red wines. The Grand Vin, Château Labégorce, undergoes 12 to 14 months of barrel ageing, with 40 to 50% new oak. These wines are crafted to offer great ageing potential. The estate's second wine is Zédé de Labégorce, also a still red wine, aged in oak barrels.
Vinification and Ageing
Vinification takes place in a modern vat house inaugurated in 2019. It is equipped with 46 raw concrete vats of 120 hl each, complemented by 6 blending vats of 160 hl. The wines are aged in oak barrels, with a 40 to 50% proportion of new oak for the Grand Vin. The cellar is fitted with an OXOline barrel management system. The wines are aged for 12 to 14 months.
