Identity
Château Laroche Joubert is one of the cuvées produced by Vignobles Dupuy, a family-run winegrowing estate established for several generations. Management is led by Damien Dupuy, representing the ninth generation of winegrowers. Consultant oenologist Éric Delacroix works alongside the estate. Its headquarters are located in Mombrier, in Gironde.
History and philosophy
The Dupuy family's winegrowing heritage dates back to 1772 at Noliquet in Lansac. In 1956, Gilbert Dupuy and Huguette Gautrat united their family vineyards, marking the foundation of the current estate. Gilbert Dupuy began estate bottling in 1973, the year Château Labadie was established, with its cellars and family home situated in Tauriac. In 1980, Joël Dupuy joined the family estate and launched a second brand, Château Laroche Joubert. Joël Dupuy succeeded his father at the head of the company in 1998. In 2002, the business was structured as SCEA Vignobles Joel Dupuy, and the vineyard reached a stable surface area of 66 hectares. Damien Dupuy joined the estate in 2010. The estate phased out chemical herbicides in 2018 and achieved Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE3) certification in 2019.

Vinification and ageing
Vinification includes pre-fermentation cold maceration and temperature control. Vatting lasts three weeks, with gentle extractions. For ageing, one quarter of the blend matures on fine lees for 12 months in oak barrels (two-wine barrels of French and American oak). The remaining three quarters of the blend are aged in vats, with racking and controlled oxygenation.
