Château Lestage is a winegrowing estate located in Listrac-Médoc. It is currently run by Guillaume and Loïc Chanfreau, who took over management in 2020 and became owners in April 2024. Prior to this, the estate belonged to their aunts' family, following its acquisition by the Chanfreau family in 1963.
History and philosophy
Château Lestage traces its origins back to 1870, with a residence built in the Napoleon III architectural style by architect Minvielle. The Saint Guirons family owned the estate until 1925. The Chanfreau family acquired the property in 1963 and held it for fifty years before Guillaume and Loïc Chanfreau—who had already been managing it since 2020—took full ownership in 2024. The estate's vat room was renovated with stainless-steel equipment in 2015.

Flagship cuvées
Château Lestage produces still red wines. The Grand Vin, Château Lestage, is characterised by a blend dominated by Merlot (62%), complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon (37%) and a small proportion of Petit Verdot (1%). This wine is aged in oak barrels, with 30% new oak for the 2014 vintage.
The estate also offers La Mouette de Château Lestage, a white wine produced from grape varieties comprising Sauvignon Blanc (60%), Sémillon (35%), and Sauvignon Gris (5%). For the 2018 vintage, this wine was aged in oak barrels (40% new oak), with a production of around 2,000 bottles.
