History and philosophy
The history of Château Meyre dates back to the 17th century. In 1998, the Hetrakul family acquired the property. The estate committed to organic viticulture in 2008, achieving organic certification in 2011.
The appellations
The estate produces wines across two main appellations: AOC Haut-Médoc, covering 18 hectares, and AOC Margaux, over 2 hectares. Château Meyre holds the Cru Bourgeois Supérieur classification.
Flagship wines
The estate produces several cuvées. The flagship wine, Château Meyre, is a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in AOC Haut-Médoc, with an annual production of around 68,000 to 80,000 bottles. Another cuvée, Le Gallen de Château Meyre, is produced in AOC Margaux, yielding roughly 6,000 to 10,000 bottles per year. This blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, dominated by Merlot (70% in the 2020 vintage), is aged for 18 months in oak barrels, 50% of which are new oak. The ageing potential for this cuvée is estimated at 15 to 20 years. The estate also crafts Le Rubis, a clairet.

The vineyard (terroir)
The vineyard spans a total area of 20 hectares. The soils consist of Quaternary gravels, gravelly sands, silt, and veins of clay. The vines have an average age of 30 years. Afterbeach en Médoc | Bordeaux Tourisme & Congrès
Les Afterbeach en Médoc sont de retour pour leur 9ème saison, du 11 juin au 10 septembre 2026, tous les mercredis et jeudis de 17h à 21h. Ces événements, organisés par les offices de tourisme Médoc plein Sud et Médoc Atlantique, proposent une expérience gourmande et authentique au cœur des vignobles médocains. Chaque semaine, deux châteaux viticoles ouvrent leurs portes pour des visites commentées par les propriétaires ou leurs équipes, permettant de découvrir le savoir-faire viticole du Médoc. Le programme inclut des dégustations de vins des domaines participants ainsi que des planches apéritives et gourmandes composées de charcuterie, fromages et diverses spécialités. L'ambiance est décrite comme chaleureuse et décontractée, idéale pour prolonger une journée estivale.
