Château Reverdi, a 32-hectare family winegrowing estate in Listrac-Médoc, is managed by the Thomas family. Certified HVE and in conversion to organic viticulture (2023), it produces wines in Listrac-Médoc, Haut-Médoc and Vin de France, including the flagship Château Reverdi, Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel.
Identity
Château Reverdi is situated in Listrac-Médoc, in Gironde. It is owned by the Thomas family, with Audrey and Mathieu Thomas currently at the helm.
History and philosophy
The history of Château Reverdi began in 1953 when Georges Thomas acquired a 3-hectare vineyard. In 1981, his son Christian Thomas and his wife Danielle took over the management of the estate. The year 1995 marked the union of the two family properties, Reverdi and L'Ermitage. In the early 2000s, Audrey and Mathieu Thomas began co-managing the estate, representing the third generation of winegrowers. In 2011, the château received a Best Of Wine Tourism award for its wine tourism offering. From the 2023 vintage onwards, Château Reverdi has been recognised as Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel.
Regarding viticultural practices, the estate is committed to an environmentally friendly approach, achieving Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) certification in 2015. Conversion to organic farming began with the 2023 vintage. Grass cover cropping is implemented between vine rows, alongside melliferous fallow lands and beekeeping. In 2015, the estate stopped using CMR products and, from 2021, eliminated anti-botrytis treatments. An eco-grazing trial was also carried out across 5 hectares in late 2020.
Appellations
Château Reverdi produces wines under the Listrac-Médoc appellation. It also offers a cuvée under the Haut-Médoc appellation, named Croix de Reverdi, and another cuvée under the Listrac-Médoc appellation, Château L'Ermitage, as well as Vin de France wines (Papillon and La Marmotte de Reverdi).
Practical information
Château Reverdi is located at 11 Route de Donissan, 33480 Listrac-Médoc. The tasting and sales cellar is open Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. It is closed on Sundays.
Tours and tastings are available. Booking an appointment is strongly recommended. The estate offers a free classic tour for 1 to 7 people (€8/person for 8 people or more), including a cellar tour and a tasting of two vintages. The Cépages workshop (€15) includes a visit to the cellars, a single-varietal tasting and two vintages paired with bread, cheeses and chocolates. The Blending workshop (€30) includes a single-varietal tasting, crafting a personalised blend, producing a bespoke half-bottle and tasting two vintages. An experience called ‘L'Escapade Bourgeoise’ (€12) allows visitors to discover the property and the Crus Bourgeois du Médoc with food and wine pairings. The estate features a play area with soft drinks for children and is pet-friendly, with a Dog Bar on site.

Flagship cuvées
Château Reverdi
This flagship cuvée is produced under the Listrac-Médoc appellation and has been classified as Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel from the 2023 vintage. Its blend includes a significant proportion of Petit Verdot, between 30 and 35%.
Château l'Ermitage
Also produced under the Listrac-Médoc appellation, this cuvée is classified as Cru Bourgeois. It is characterised by a high proportion of Merlot in its blend.
Papillon
This dry white wine is crafted under the Vin de France appellation. It is designed for gentle and subtle ageing.
La Marmotte de Reverdi
This is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon rosé wine, produced as a Vin de France.
Vinification and ageing
Ageing can take place in barrels, particularly for certain cuvées such as the ‘Cuvée Prestige Elevé en fût de chêne neuf’ formerly produced by André Quancard.

Agenda de l'été en Gironde : arts de la rue, observation du ciel, dégustations... Quoi faire du 8 au 14 août 2026 ?
Cet article présente une sélection d'événements à faire en Gironde du 8 au 14 août 2026. Parmi les activités proposées, on retrouve la dernière journée du Festival international des arts de la rue Fest'arts à Libourne, avec de nombreux spectacles de cirque, danse, théâtre et poésie, culminant avec un DJ set à La Centrale. Les Fêtes de la mer se tiendront à Soulac le 9 août, incluant une fanfare, une parade nautique avec dépôt de gerbe pour les marins disparus, et se terminant par des concerts et un feu d'artifice. Des « Afterbeach » sont organisés dans le Médoc pour rencontrer des vignerons et déguster leurs vins. Deux rendez-vous sont spécifiquement mentionnés : le 12 août au Château Reverdi de Listrac-Médoc, avec visite du domaine, dégustation et animation musicale, et le 13 août au Château Carmenère de Queyrac, proposant visite, pot d'accueil et dégustation de huit vins. Les foires aux vins de l'été reprennent également, avec un événement prévu à Lacanau Ville le 12 août. Une Fête médiévale et fantastique est de retour au château de la Martinière, à Saint-Ciers-sur-Gironde, du 7 au 9 août, avec des camps de Vikings, sorciers, spectacles de feu et délices culinaires de l'époque. La Nuit des étoiles se poursuit jusqu'au 9 août, offrant des opportunités d'observation du ciel à La Teste-de-Buch, Vayres et Saint-Vivien-de-Blaye. Afterbeach en Médoc | Bordeaux Tourisme & Congrès
Les Afterbeach en Médoc sont de retour pour leur 9ème saison, du 11 juin au 10 septembre 2026, tous les mercredis et jeudis de 17h à 21h. Ces événements, organisés par les offices de tourisme Médoc plein Sud et Médoc Atlantique, proposent une expérience gourmande et authentique au cœur des vignobles médocains. Chaque semaine, deux châteaux viticoles ouvrent leurs portes pour des visites commentées par les propriétaires ou leurs équipes, permettant de découvrir le savoir-faire viticole du Médoc. Le programme inclut des dégustations de vins des domaines participants ainsi que des planches apéritives et gourmandes composées de charcuterie, fromages et diverses spécialités. L'ambiance est décrite comme chaleureuse et décontractée, idéale pour prolonger une journée estivale.
