Identity
Château Semeillan Mazeau is located in the commune of Listrac, in Gironde. It is owned by Pierre Jean Denis Bibian, who also serves as the estate's cellar master, winegrower, and winemaker. The estate is part of the Vignobles Jean Denis Bibian group.
History and philosophy
Château Sémeillan was established in 1925 under the ownership of Mr P. A. Hosten. The Vicomtesse du Pavillon was also one of its former proprietors. In 1998, Château Sémeillan Mazeau was restored by Mr and Mrs Jander. The estate was acquired in 2021 by Pierre Jean Denis Bibian. Certified organic since 2015, the vineyard became the very first organic estate in Listrac-Médoc. In parallel, Château Lagrave Cissan, another property of Vignobles Jean Denis Bibian, was founded in 1919 by André Lescoutra.

Flagship cuvées
The estate offers the Château Sémeillan Mazeau cuvée, classified as Cru Bourgeois. In recent vintages, this cuvée is crafted from a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. A specific cuvée, "Le Petit Verdot", is made from 100% Petit Verdot. Château Lagrave Cissan is also affectionately known as the "Vins des pompiers".
