History and philosophy
The name Château Rougier originates from a lieu-dit where the ancestors of the Lobre family established their first vineyard plantings in Rimons. The estate has been managed by Jean-Pierre Rougier since 1982. Vignobles J.-C. Lobre also encompasses other properties, including Château de l'Aubrade and Château Jamin. The Château Rougier vineyard holds Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE3) certification.

The vineyard (terroir)
The Château Rougier vineyard covers a total surface area of 70 hectares, set along the banks of the Dordogne. The soils consist of clay-limestone, clay-loam, and clay-siliceous parcels, notably on the clay-limestone plateau of Ruch. Red grape varieties account for 45 hectares and are planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec. White varieties cover 25 hectares, planted with Sémillon, Sauvignon, and Muscadelle.
Flagship cuvées
Château Rougier offers a diverse range of cuvées. The red wine selection includes Château Rougier under the Bordeaux Rouge and Bordeaux Supérieur Rouge appellations. In white, the estate crafts a Château Rougier cuvée under the Bordeaux Blanc appellation. Another red cuvée, Château Les Graves de Pompeyrat, is also produced.
