Entre-deux-Mers is a Bordeaux dry white wine appellation, distinguished by its unique terroir and dedicated production.

The terroir
Entre-deux-Mers is a winegrowing region situated between the Garonne to the south and the Dordogne to the north, forming a vast triangle of land. The landscape is shaped by rolling hillsides and plateaux. The soils are predominantly clay-limestone or clay-gravel, occasionally clay-sand, offering diverse growing conditions for the vines. The appellation enjoys a temperate oceanic climate, ideal for cultivating white grape varieties, which make up the vast majority of plantings and define the typicity of the wines.
The wines
The Entre-deux-Mers appellation is exclusively dedicated to dry white wines. The permitted grape varieties mainly include Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle. Sauvignon Blanc imparts crispness and vibrant aromatic notes, while Sémillon brings roundness and complexity. Muscadelle adds a delicate floral and musky touch. These blends yield wines of notable freshness, typically displaying an aromatic profile driven by citrus, white-fleshed fruit, and subtle floral nuances.
Food pairings
Dry white wines from Entre-deux-Mers lend themselves to a wide range of culinary pairings. Their crispness and lively acidity make them a natural match for seafood, especially oysters and prawns. They also pair seamlessly with grilled fish or fish in delicate sauces. Mixed salads, fresh goat's cheese, and poultry dishes also harmonise beautifully with these wines, highlighting their versatility at the table.
