The Vineyard (Terroir)

The Château Taillefer vineyard spans 12 hectares. It is located on the southern edge of the Pomerol appellation, on the southern slope of the plateau. The soils are sandy-loam and sandy-gravel, resting on iron-rich and blue clays, abundant in iron oxide deposits. The grape varieties are predominantly Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc. A partial restructuring of the vineyard has been carried out, including an increase in planting density.
