Domaine de Lionne is located in Illats, in the Graves AOC. Managed by Véronique Smati, the estate cultivates around 28 hectares of red (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot) and white (Sauvignon, Sémillon) grape varieties on sandy-gravel soils, certified HVE.

History and philosophy
The estate has achieved HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) certification for its viticultural practices.
Appellations
The estate produces wines under the Graves appellation as well as the Bordeaux appellation.
Winemaking and ageing
For the red wines, traditional vinification is employed, including a cold pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel vats for around 20 days, followed by 12 months of ageing.
For the white wines, techniques include cold maceration and gentle pressing. Ageing is carried out on fine lees for 6 months.

The vineyard (terroir)
The vineyard of Château de Lionne spans a total area of approximately 28.65 hectares. The section dedicated to red grape varieties accounts for around 21.57 hectares, while the area devoted to whites covers roughly 7.07 hectares.
The soils are predominantly sandy-gravel across most of the property (80%), complemented by 20% dry gravel. The subsoil is also gravelly. The planting density is 5,000 vines per hectare.
For the red wines, the grape varieties planted are Merlot (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), and Petit Verdot (20%). The average age of these vines is 20 years.
For the white wines, the grape varieties are split between Sauvignon (50%) and Sémillon (50%). The white vines have an average age of 5 years.
Key cuvées
Domaine de Lionne offers several cuvées. The red wine range includes "Château de Lionne L'Envolée de Lionne" and "Château de Lionne". A white wine is also produced under the name "Château de Lionne Blanc".
The vineyard's average annual production is approximately 1,300 hectolitres of red wine and 400 hectolitres of white wine.
