Le Grand Vin 2022, Graves blanc (92/100 RVF)

Organic wine certified by FR-BIO-16 and DEMETER

A blend of 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% old Sémillon from our best terroirs: sandy soils of Peyron for the Sauvignon Blanc, gravel and clay of Bouché for the Sémillon, Sauvignon on clay at Peyrous.

The Sauvignon and Sémillon were harvested on 30th August and co-fermented in 500-litre barrels. 50% new barrels.

2022 Vintage:

92/100 in La Revue du Vin de France, April 2024 edition

'Ample, rich, and complex, a wine showcasing remarkable fruit quality. The musky and floral aromas, with a slight lactic hint, evoke certain Loire Sauvignons “that undergo malolactic fermentation” (those by Alexandre Bain, for example). The profile of Graves white wine, which this wine does not disown, emerges here as more complex and, as it were, softened. In the same vintage, the two single-plot cuvées, Argile Ocre (91/100) and Feldspath (90/100), also elevate the appellation, opening doors without violating archetypes.'

'A singular wine with a unique flavour profile blending resin, old rose, spices, sage, angelica, white mint, dried fruits, grapefruit, citrus zest, exotic fruits… It's vibrant on the palate, it bounces, it leaves and it returns. One hums the flavours and notes like a gentle song. It cradles and caresses, it's delightful. Thank you for this moment of happiness.'

‘Golden, lively, fleshy, full of life and pulp. An aromatic register where generous fruit meets an oxidative vein of honey and toasted almond. Very different from its peers, it is certainly not a white wine according to the canons of the Dubourdieu school! But besides having the great merit of highlighting the possible stylistic diversity in these Graves lands, it will provide real pleasure to lovers of free wines.'
