This Graves white wine has just been denied entry to the Trophée des Vins de Graves

Reason: "Le Grand Vin" is written on the label, and participation in the Trophy is not allowed for special cuvées; only the Château's main cuvée can take part. The Château brand must be the sole, primary mention on the label.
The mere fact of having written "Le Grand Vin" de facto bars us from entering the competition.
I completely disagree with the interpretation being made of this rule. In spirit, winemakers are asked to present their flagship cuvée, not some over-extracted showpiece engineered solely to win medals. I understand that. This bottle fully aligns with that spirit (moreover, it is not my most expensive cuvée). The wine was aged in new oak barrels for a year, in the purest Bordeaux oenological tradition.
Furthermore, taking this rule's interpretation to its logical conclusion, every bottle bearing the mention "Grand vin de Bordeaux" would have to be banned, which would de facto disqualify every single entrant.
From a marketing perspective, Bordeaux is dying from these rules, which lock us into a straitjacket and prevent us from innovating. Bordeaux, consciously or not, seeks to remain an insular club where everyone must conform to established, immutable rules.
This is the complete antithesis of my definition of life. That which is alive can evolve, change, and mutate. Life is born from subtle nuances. There is no question of my label designs being constrained by conformist, stifling rules.
By extension, Château Cazebonne will also be unable to take part in the Ambassadeurs des Vins de Graves programme.
I am not, however, giving up on participating in other Graves initiatives. I firmly believe in the power of the collective, provided the collective embraces individuality and difference. I called Dominique, the president of our Graves wine syndicate, to express my profound disappointment at being barred from this collective initiative. Following his outright refusal, he invited me to come and debate the matter at the general assembly. I have marked the date to share my vision: one of an open, supportive approach to communication, drawing strength from our unique sensibilities and differences.
To conclude, entering this trophy was a way for us to present this bottle to independent peers in an impartial blind tasting.
As an alternative, I would like to send this bottle to five trade professionals (independent wine merchants, sommeliers, etc.) to hear their thoughts.
At the same time, my brother Chef Damien will also invite five food and wine enthusiasts to share their impressions with us.
This feedback is invaluable to us. We need it to keep improving.
