This wine is the culmination of 6 years of work at Cazebonne, discovering Bordeaux's forgotten grape varieties. This cuvée comprises a blend of 45% Mancin, 25% Castets, 10% Saint-Macaire, and 10% Petit Verdot. The hand harvest took place between 22nd September and 13th October 2022.
In search of the taste of Bordeaux from yesteryear, here we find explosive fruit and a refined texture with a mouth-watering freshness. 12 months' ageing in amphora and barrel.
2022 Vintage: 92/100 in the Revue du Vin de France, April 2024 'An original and extravagant note of potpourri, cinnamon, peach. A blend of old grape varieties: Mancin, Castets, Bouchalès, Saint-Macaire, and Jurançon Noir, this 2022 has a direct connection to the fruit, yet it's hard to imagine such an expression of wine in Bordeaux. A balance between concentration and a striking rectitude, a touch impactful.'
92/100 in the Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2025 by the RVF
2021 Vintage:
Favourite pick in the Guide des Vins en France (100% Biodynamie) 2024 'Mancin, Castets, Bouchalès, Saint-Macaire, and Jurançon Noir, an explosion of old grape varieties! A wine with pep and life. Slightly closed on the nose, it already has a silky texture. A youngster that will delight you in the years to come. A huge bravo!'
90/100 in the Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2024 by the RVF
2020 Vintage:
94/100 in the Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2023 by the RVF 'Comme en 1900, a blend of historic grape varieties, a dark, slender, vibrant wine, with profound fruit, evoking blueberry and blackcurrant, with a strong floral element that gives it much appeal. The tension is magnificent, the touch subtle, the taste both new and memorable.' In the wake of Loïc Pasquet, the great Bordeaux of yesterday and tomorrow?'
