The Jurançon grape is a cross between Folle Blanche and Cot (Malbec). It is a rustic but fruit-driven grape variety, and it is this expression that we wanted to capture with fermentation in a small tank, racking after about fifteen days. It is blended with Mérille and Béquignol and aged for one year in amphorae.

Why 'La Dame Noire' for the name of this cuvée? Because legislation prohibits us from mentioning Jurançon Noir on the label, to avoid confusion with the famous eponymous appellation. We therefore named it 'La Dame Noire', the secondary name for this grape variety.

Vintage 2023: 90/100 in the Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2024 from La Revue du Vin de France

Vintage 2022: Pierre Citerne in the Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2024 from La RVF: 'La Dame Noire 2022 is a Jurançon Noir offering a simple, flowing, innocent liquorice-like sweetness.'
