A barrel thanks to you!

Renewing part of your barrel stock every year is essential for a wine estate. New oak brings to the blend a little of that complexity which defines great wines. We choose 500-litre barrels, a format that suits perfectly the style of wines we want to make: all the finesse of ageing, without excessive oak. Every year we buy 5 to 10 barrels, an investment of €7,500 to €15,000.

But the bankruptcy of the company H&A Location has left us with an unpaid bill of €50,000, which has completely drained our cash flow, and our banker does not wish to support us in financing these barrels. Read the article on H&A Location's bankruptcy

We have two choices. Not buying barrels this year, or asking you to help us finance them. We had decided to skip the purchase of barrels this year.

But in the meantime, the 2026 harvest began. An exceptional vintage, an unusual one too, with ripeness levels we were able to push exactly as we wanted on every grape variety.

As I write these words, the whites are in (except for a few rows of forgotten varieties that will allow us to harvest, for the first time on the estate, a sweet wine). The Merlots, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Jurançon noir, Castets and Bouchalès are in tank, fermenting or have finished their fermentation. This week we will bring in the Cabernet-Sauvignon. A few late varieties will still remain: Mancin, Saint-Macaire, Petit Verdot, Carménère...

If you can give us a hand, buying a few barrels will be of great help in making what will certainly be the estate's greatest vintage, for our tenth harvest.
