Château La Grave

# Château La Grave – Vignoble Barre Château La Grave is the flagship wine of Vignoble Barre, a family estate based in Fronsac, on Bordeaux's Right Bank. Run by Edith and Gabriel Barre — who took over from the Barre family (formerly the Paul Barre estate) — the vineyard is certified organic. ## Small-scale viticulture The estate deliberately remains human in scale: tending the vines without sacrificing family life, and crafting wines that express the terroir and a deep attachment to the land. Vineyard practices pay particular attention to soil life, in a sustainable farming approach. ## The wines The estate produces two main cuvées: - **Château La Grave**, under the Fronsac appellation, an age-worthy wine with silky tannins from the typical clay-limestone soils of the appellation; - **La Bobine**, under the Vin de France designation, a more easy-going, joyful cuvée. The estate proudly belongs to the Fronsac and Canon-Fronsac appellations. A summer "guinguette" (open-air café) also welcomes visitors to taste the wines on site. ## Organic certification The vineyard is certified organic — recognition of a long-standing commitment to environmentally respectful practices: living soils, no synthetic inputs, and organic winemaking.
