The Vineyard (Terroir)
The Château Laurence vineyard extends over 8.08 hectares across the communes of Montussan and Saint-Sulpice-et-Cameyrac, east of Bordeaux. The terroirs are complementary: gravelly clay in Montussan and south-facing clay-limestone plateaux in Saint-Sulpice-et-Cameyrac. Planting density ranges from 5,000 to 6,250 vines per hectare. The vines are trained using a two-arm Girondine pruning method (taille girondine). Rootstocks include Fercal, Gravesac, 41B, and 101-14MG. The average vine age across the plots is 20 years or more. Grape varieties are dominated by Merlot for red wines (100%), Sauvignon blanc for dry still white wines, and Chardonnay for traditional-method sparkling wines.
Flagship Cuvées
Château Laurence - Rouge
This cuvée is crafted from 100% Merlot. It is vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Ageing takes place over 14 months in French oak barrels, using 30% new oak and 70% one- to two-year-old barrels. Fining is carried out if necessary, followed by filtration at bottling. Annual production for this cuvée ranges between 12,000 and 18,000 bottles.
Château Laurence - Brut Nature
This cuvée, produced as an undosed Brut Nature, is crafted from Chardonnay using the traditional method. Annual production is approximately 4,000 bottles.
Vinification and Ageing
Harvesting and grape sorting are carried out mechanically. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Ageing for the red wines lasts 14 months in French oak barrels. Fining is applied as needed and filtration is carried out at bottling.
