Identity

Château La Lande de Taleyran is an estate owned by Vignobles BURLIGA, situated in the commune of Beychac-et-Caillau. The estate is run by the Burliga family. Jacques Burliga established himself in 1984, and his son Arnaud Burliga joined him in 2007, serving as oenologist and winemaker.

History and philosophy

The history of Château La Lande de Taleyran began in 1984 with the arrival of Jacques Burliga. The estate gradually expanded its activities through the acquisition of other properties, including Château Paulin in 1986 and Château Landrieu in 1993. Arnaud Burliga joined his father in 2005 and became winemaker in 2007. A modern winery was built in 2008.

Regarding viticultural practices, the estate is committed to sustainable and organic farming approaches. It has held the highest level of Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) certification since 2020.

Château La Lande de Taleyran produces wines under the Bordeaux, Bordeaux Supérieur, Entre-deux-Mers, Bordeaux Clairet, and Bordeaux Rosé appellations.

The vineyard (terroir)

The vineyard of Château La Lande de Taleyran spans nearly 60 hectares. The vines are planted across the communes of Beychac-et-Caillau, Madirac, and Montussan. The red grape varieties planted include Merlot noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec. For white grape varieties, the estate grows Sauvignon, Sémillon, and Muscadelle.

Flagship cuvées

The estate offers a diverse wine range. Among the red wines are Château LA LANDE DE TALEYRAN Bordeaux Supérieur and Château LANDRIEU Bordeaux Rouge, both described as round and accessible. In white, Château LA LANDE DE TALEYRAN Entre-Deux-Mers is a fruity wine, while Château PAULIN BORDEAUX BLANC SEC BARRIQUE is aged in oak barrels. The estate also produces BSWEET BORDEAUX BLANC MOELLEUX. Among the rosés, Château LA LANDE DE TALEYRAN Bordeaux Rosé is characterised as fruity. Château LA LANDE DE TALEYRAN Clairet is likewise a fruity wine. Finally, a sparkling cuvée, BULLES DE TALEYRAN, is also on offer.

Vinification and ageing

Vinification at Château La Lande de Taleyran includes vat ageing for certain wines, with ageing periods ranging from 12 to 16 months. Some cuvées, such as Château PAULIN Bordeaux blanc and Château PAULIN Bordeaux Supérieur, are aged in oak barrels.
