History and philosophy
Founded in 1994 by Éric Prissette, Château Rol Valentin was acquired by the Robin family in 2009. A new cellar was completed in 2020. The estate joined the official Saint-Émilion wine classification in 2022. Since 2021, the château has welcomed the public for visits. The winegrowing estate is certified Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE3) and practises sustainable viticulture, with a strict ban on herbicides.

The tasting cellar and boutique are open year-round by appointment, Monday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00. The vineyard (terroir)
The Château Rol Valentin vineyard spans 7.3 hectares, divided between Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse (5.5 hectares) and Saint-Émilion (1.8 hectares). The average age of the vines is 40 years. Soils in Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse consist of a limestone plateau and a clay-limestone hillside. In Saint-Émilion, the plots are located on a north-western plateau characterised by sandy topsoils over clay subsoils. Grape varieties are dominated by Merlot (78%), complemented by Cabernet Franc (15%) and Malbec (7%). Viticultural practices include soil tillage (mounding, traditional ploughing), single and double Guyot pruning, debudding, suckering, bunch thinning (green harvesting), and meticulous canopy management.
Flagship cuvées
The estate offers a portfolio of red, white, and rosé wines. Château Rol Valentin is vinified in small wooden vats, enabling plot-by-plot selection. Ageing takes place in oak barrels, with 75% new wood. Average production is around 25,000 bottles per year.

Le Château Rol Valentin, un Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Émilion, a été récompensé en 2024 par plusieurs distinctions notables dans le domaine de l'œnotourisme, témoignant de son prestige et de la qualité de ses offres. Alexandra Robin, propriétaire du vignoble avec Nicolas Robin, récolte les fruits de ses efforts en voyant le château honoré. Parmi les récompenses, le Château Rol Valentin a reçu le Best of Wine Tourism d’Or et les Trophées de l’œnotourisme pour son atelier "Verre-Tigineux". Cette distinction lui a permis d'être inscrit pour la compétition internationale des Great Wine Capitals. Le château figure également dans le TOP 100 des Trophées de l’Œnotourisme 2024, organisé par Terre de Vins, suite à une sélection rigoureuse parmi plus de 300 candidatures par un jury d'experts.
