Vignobles Bayle-Carreau is a collection of wine estates located in Cars, in Gironde. This family business is run by Xavier Carreau, Alain Jourdan and Cyril Jourdan.

History and Philosophy

The family history of Vignobles Bayle-Carreau dates back to the end of the 19th century, spanning seven generations. Over time, the estate has incorporated various wine properties. Château Pardaillan was acquired in 1971, followed by Château Landreau in 1995. Vignobles Bayle-Carreau is committed to environmentally friendly practices, certified Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) and Terra Vitis.

Vignobles Bayle-Carreau produces wines under various appellations, including Côtes de Bourg, Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, Blaye, Bordeaux Rosé, Vin de Pays de l'Atlantique, Vin de France, Bordeaux Supérieur and Crémant de Bordeaux.

The Vineyard (Terroir)

Vignobles Bayle-Carreau encompasses several properties. Château La Carelle spans 34 hectares. Château Landreau covers 14 hectares, predominantly planted with Merlot. Château Eyquem represents 31 hectares. Château Barbé covers 23 hectares. Château Pardaillan extends over 17 hectares, with grape varieties consisting of Merlot (90%), Cabernet Sauvignon (5%) and Malbec (5%). Château Carpena is established on a clay-limestone plateau in Bayon, planted with Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Sauvignon. The properties grouped under the Vignobles Bayle-Carreau banner also include Sainte-Clotilde.

Flagship Cuvées

Vignobles Bayle-Carreau offers a diverse range of cuvées. Among the red wines are labels such as Château Eyquem, Château Landreau, Château Eyquem Le Belvédère, Château La Carelle, Château Pardaillan, Château Barbé, Château Sainte-Clotilde #03 and Château Sainte-Clotilde Sir Malbec. The BC de Bayle Carreau cuvée is also produced. In the rosé category, Château La Carelle offers a Rosé Fruité Sec and a Rosé Tendre Moëlleux, alongside Château Pardaillan des Voutes Rosées – Rosé Sec. Dry white wines are also crafted, such as Château Pardaillan Fruits Noir Blanc Sec and Château La Carelle Agrume Sec. The estate also produces Château Barbé 1/2 Sec and Château La Carelle Tendre Doux. For sparkling wines, Crémant de Bordeaux is available in both white and rosé, notably the Crémant Rosé Extra Brut under the Château Pardaillan label. Other cuvées such as Château Eyquem Le Point de Mire, Château La Sainte-Clotilde Tandem, Château La Cure, Château La Carelle Sur les Sables Frais and Château Carpena round out the range.
