Terroir

The Indication Géographique Protégée Atlantique is a regional appellation spanning a vast part of south-western France, including the Bordeaux vineyard. Its geographical footprint is defined by its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, fostering a temperate maritime climate. This IGP encompasses a wide diversity of soils, from coastal sands to inland clay-limestone, gravels and boulbènes, offering a rich mosaic of terroirs well suited to diverse winemaking expressions.

The wines

IGP Atlantique permits a wide range of grape varieties for red, white and rosé wines alike. Among the red grape varieties, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are commonly used. For whites, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle are frequent, alongside other regional and international varieties. Wines produced under this appellation are generally supple and fruit-forward, characterised by their freshness. They can be crafted as single-varietal wines or blends, offering a broad spectrum of styles.

Food pairings

Thanks to their diversity and focus on fruit and freshness, IGP Atlantique wines lend themselves to a wide array of food pairings. Light reds pair beautifully with charcuterie, poultry or everyday dishes. Crisp, dry whites are ideal with seafood, grilled fish or mixed salads. Rosés are perfectly suited to aperitifs, barbecues and summer dining. Their approachable nature makes them wonderfully versatile table companions.
