35 millimetres of rain in 24 hours here and hail for some
For those who still have sweet wines to bring in, this is not good news at all.
As for us, we are delighted to have finished sowing our cover crops. This rain combined with the mild temperatures will do wonders for the seedlings of heritage wheat and field beans.
The sowing was already a success; they are going to look magnificent. Our soils will build up nitrogen and carbon reserves in spring, and the vines will be all the better for it.
