First signs of downy mildew in our plot of forgotten grape varieties on a young Castets vine
This vine remained buried under a clump of grass and it is likely that it was not protected by our first Bordeaux mixture sprays.
Even though the year has been very forgiving so far, downy mildew is indeed here, ready to emerge.
