Harvest has begun

This morning we finished picking our Bouché plot. A co-planted plot of Semillon, Sauvignon and Sauvignon Gris, harvested at the same time. The quality is exceptional: perfectly sound grapes, moderate alcohol (under 13%), and beautiful acidity. The only downside is the yield, 23 hl/ha, but we will happily settle for that given the ultra-high quality of these old vines. We carried out the settling overnight, followed immediately by barrelling down.
