I opened 3 wonderful bottles the other evening with friends

3 wines tasted blind, 3 wines difficult to identify (except perhaps the Cotat 2014).
Beyond all the talk, the best wine remains the one whose bottle is finished first.
And in order of preference, my guests favoured:
Sancerre 2014, François Cotat, Les Monts Damnés
ADNature Blanc 2018, Vin de France from Stéphanie Roussel (in the Marmandais)
Taurus 2012; Domaine de l'Ecu
So Sauvignon, Sauvignon and Melon de Bourgogne.
It was freshness and drinkability that won them over, at the expense of the pronounced oakiness of the Domaine de l'Ecu cuvée.
The first two offered a contrast of styles: the minerality and tension of the Sancerre versus the slightly oxidative and natural character of Stéphanie Roussel's Sémillon.
Note to self: never forget to make wines that are meant to be drunk!
