Julien's tasting notes

Moving on to a cuvée he enjoyed less, our Sauvignon on the Peyron terroir:
‘Sauvignon parcellaire: more mixed feelings, but it's a matter of personal taste. In fact, feldspar soil doesn't speak to me at all (unlike limestone or schist), so I can't quite project a flavour profile at the mention of this unusual soil. Next, the wine is a bit heady for me; it remains very drinkable, but there is an aromatic richness (the amphora?) that reminds me of somewhat creamy Languedoc wines which, personally, I'm not overly keen on—a heady, intoxicating side, a bit easy. I had imagined a Sauvignon that was perhaps more varietal or more taut. But it is still very good; I finished the bottle all by myself and it was even better this morning after being open for 24 hours.’
