So far, the vines are hunkering down, slowing their activity to withstand this heatwave

Very little damage to date. We are only seeing a few bunches suffering from sunscald, and particularly on Saint-Macaire (on Sémillon too). It is interesting to follow how these forgotten grape varieties withstand the heatwave. Not all of them will prove suitable. It remains to be seen whether this is a characteristic of Saint-Macaire or simply because the vine is young and not yet sufficiently rooted. Probably a mix of both.
