The rains on August 29th and September 1st certainly helped to produce reds of great balance this year, fruit-driven and delightfully rich. Merlot will play a significant role in the Grand Vin's blend, offering fruity, spicy notes supported by a lovely structure, all enveloped in a beautiful sweetness. The overall balance is very promising. Perhaps not a vintage to keep for 20 years, but one that will be delicious at the table. All we aim to offer you at Château de Cazebonne are wines that are delicious from their youth.

2021 Vintage:

90/100 in the Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2024 by the RVF, by Pierre Citerne 'The Grand Vin 2021, with clear, fresh, and floral fruit, slender but harmonious.'

2020 Vintage:

93/100 in RVF July 2023, The best affordable wines. Highest score obtained across all Bordeaux appellations combined.

Notes from Marc Vanhellemont, les 5 du vin, 05/05/2023 'Dark garnet colour, with a nose of well-spiced red fruit jams. The indulgent palate charms us with its fruity amplitude, wrapped in a fresh, silky tannic texture masterfully connected to a mineral foundation. Everything holds together, balances, and extends with notes of black pepper, redcurrant jelly, and black olive jam. One thinks, "this is a mix between classic and original".'

‘A clear, chlorophyll-like juice, flavourful and fresh. Digestible, it shows itself to be supple and indulgent on the attack before offering a fleshy and structured finish.’
