Synergie 2022 (93/100 RVF)

Cabernet Franc and Merlot in amphora

After a year marked by intense heatwaves (17 days with temperatures above 25°C), we harvested the Merlots on 14th and 16th September, and the Cabernet Francs for this cuvée on 6th October.

Aged for 12 months in amphora for the Cabernet Franc and in barrels and amphora for the Merlot.

The Merlot marries wonderfully with the Cabernet Franc in this cuvée. Silky tannins, without harshness, and expressive, explosive fruit. This cuvée perfectly embodies what we aim to achieve at Château de Cazebonne: great red wines accessible from a young age.

Guide des vins Bio 2024, Pierre Guigui: 'After a brief decanting to dissipate the very slight animal character, one discovers lovely notes of liquorice, violet, plum, blackcurrant, and blackberry. It's deliciously fruity, juicy with just a hint of structure, just right.'

Notes from Dominique Hutin, France Inter, On va déguster, 12/02/2022 'A nose of chocolate suggesting a robust, market-hall expression. Not at all; it's very refined on the palate, this graceful Graves proves to be – very – saline, with a fine grain on the tongue, mentholated. It's lively and calls for a long decanting.'

Notes from Marc Vanhellemont, les 5 du vin, 05/05/2020 ' Purple-garnet robe whose nose starts with pepper before leading to scents of red fruits. The crisp palate is enlivened by a subtle sparkle that highlights the finesse of the fruits. Cherry and strawberry are discernible, well-held by the firmness of the tannins. The finish is peppery and accompanied by a mouth-watering saline note.'
