The terroir is unique in this area. The limestone bedrock (the same as in Saint-Émilion lies at a depth of 1 to 3 metres. Merlot expresses itself wonderfully here. We aged it for 5 months in terracotta amphorae, which are relatively porous. We lost up to 20% of the volume during ageing! But the result speaks for itself: it has smoothed the tannins and the wine already tastes beautifully, driven by fruit and freshness.
