My friend Michel Elie forwarded me this article published today in the newspaper Haute Gironde

An article about our book, Bordeaux, une histoire de cépages.
The Blayais/Bourgeais long had a rather unique grape variety mix, with Petite Belle for Malbec, Mancin, Pardotte, or Prolongeau (Bouchalès).
The nurseryman and winegrower Jean Elie also created the Cabernet-Malbec family there (notably numbers 2 and 4) and was one of the key figures in the spread of Merlot Blanc across Gironde.
Thank you to Christophe Meynard for this rich and detailed article.
