The storms and the bulk of the rain are behind us

A few more showers are forecast for the end of the week, and we should have a week of calm and sunshine next week, with warmer weather returning. This should do some good and help dry out the moisture. Yet downy mildew is firmly present. Black rot too. It is the latter that we fear most. Once it spreads to the bunches, there is nothing left to do. The crop is lost. So today, we are treating with copper (350g of metallic copper per hectare, blending 3 different forms of copper, 5kg of sulphur (notably for black rot), and a dynamised herbal infusion of horsetail, valerian, and comfrey). We will see where we can pass with the tractor. Certainly not everywhere... and we will wait for the first weather window for the parcels we couldn't treat. Especially the steepest slopes or the plots at the foot of the slope, which are still flooded.
