The vines look beautiful this year

Once again, they show us just how resilient they can be.
A mild winter, early budburst, followed by frosts in April that dashed all the efforts they made to emerge from dormancy, wasting valuable reserves and energy.
They had to muster fresh resources, drawing on sugars to start growing again. Yet once more, the weather offered no help, with very cool temperatures persisting for several weeks.
The warmth has returned, with moisture in the soils, and the vines have bounced back with unsuspected vigour. Coulure during flowering reminds us that the vines have suffered, but once again, they teach us a wonderful life lesson. They are doing everything they can to build up healthy reserves for the 2022 vintage, which we hope will be a little more peaceful.
