This caterpillar is an owlet moth caterpillar
It can grow up to 5 centimetres long.
We discovered it in a row of vines. There are more than 750 species in France. They usually hide in the soil or at the base of plants.
It will eventually turn into a moth.
In large numbers, they are a real scourge for market garden crops. Ours will serve as a meal for passing birds or turn into moths.
