Today we walked the vineyards to assess the damage following the week-long heatwave

Overall, the vines have held up well, even though the berries are small and seem to have halted their growth. This does not point to a bountiful harvest.
Yet not all grape varieties behave in the same way in the face of this extreme heat. Our small plot of Mérille has really taken a blow, while the nearby Jurançon noir has come through completely unscathed!
