Working with horses has cleared all the grass around the vines from last year’s planting

By hand, this would have been a mammoth task across the 4 hectares not yet trellised. In such situations, one can understand why glyphosate is so prized in agriculture. In two or three hours, the weeding would have been completed. Yet with the work we are carrying out, we are giving the vines the best opportunity to establish deep roots, which will prove invaluable for their long future ahead.
