An end to this cold spell

We flirted with zero degrees for four nights (last Thursday, Monday and Tuesday mornings, and this morning).
The thermometer couldn't have dropped one or two degrees lower. We have a little damage in frost-prone lower slopes, but nothing catastrophic.
Our Ventigel frost-protection towers proved their worth against this type of radiative frost, where cold air gathers at ground level. The tower works by drawing warmer air back down towards the soil. In doing so, we managed to raise local temperatures by two degrees. A crucial difference during this kind of frost episode.
Now, we will be keeping a close eye on mildew, currently dormant due to the cool temperatures but sure to rear its head before long. The season is truly underway. Three months of utmost vigilance to ensure a good harvest.
