I went to taste and discover, at a winegrower's in the Blayais, a grape variety I was not familiar with: Cabernet Malbec, a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec

It strikes me as being of the greatest interest:
- it has a delightfully pulpy flesh (reminiscent of Malbec) combined with the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon, with a thick skin rich in anthocyanins,
- its alcohol level remains moderate (around 12%)
Everything to make me want to plant a few vines at Cazebonne, even if this historic grape variety is not listed in the official catalogue of authorised grape varieties.
