Thirty years later, I went back to school

In 1991, together with Nicolas, Pierre, David and Patrick, we founded Dionysos, the oenology society of EDHEC.
This week, I had the immense pleasure of returning to Lille to host a tasting focusing on the forgotten grape varieties of Bordeaux, in front of the club’s current students. Éric Dugardin, runner-up Best Sommelier of France, kindly joined us to talk about geo-sensory tasting. Thirty years ago, he was the one who first introduced us to wine tasting. It is thanks to him that I developed a passion for wine and decided to make a career out of it.
Talking about wine history, showing that yesterday’s grape varieties can be tomorrow’s solutions, passing on the passion and culture of wine to a new generation… what a true pleasure!
And what a sense of pride to see that the spirit of Dionysos lives on, ever curious, open-minded and dedicated.
Thank you to the current team for their warm welcome. Wine continues to build bridges across generations.
