This morning at Cazebonne, we welcomed sommellerie students from the Lycée Hôtelier de Chamalières

Fascinating discussions with passionate young talents already learning their craft in some of the finest French establishments (Loiseau, Blanc, Marcon…)
They came straight to the source to taste the forgotten grape varieties of Bordeaux, and showed us that these varieties have a bright future ahead—especially when championed by such talented young ambassadors!
Many thanks to their teacher Thomas Vivant for organising this visit and showcasing the many facets of Bordeaux wine today.
Next on their itinerary was a visit to Sauternes, followed by a meeting with my friend David Barrault at Château Tire Pé.
A little bird tells me they will also be visiting Jean-Yves Millaire tomorrow.
Three "Pirate" 🏴☠️ visits for their Bordeaux trip—it is truly heartening to see young sommeliers taking an interest in winegrowers who are pushing the boundaries!
