Winter at last

Last year, the thermometer barely dropped below freezing, just a night or two during the winter. And then followed a warm February, with the vines beginning budburst and starting their cycle far too early, leaving them all the more vulnerable to spring frosts. Finally a normal January. In our climates, the vines and nature need cold weather in winter. Let's hope this is finally the sign of a normal year, with the seasons falling back into place.
