Over 50 “Bordeaux Pirate” cuvées
By Jean-Charles Galiacy

The “Bordeaux Pirate” collective, born out of a Facebook group, brings together Gironde winegrowers wishing to break free from the “stuffy image often associated with Bordeaux wines” and promote cuvées that “break the mould”. They have decided to launch their own label. Among the winners are notably “Métissage blanc” from Ducourt wines, produced from the resistant Sauvignac grape variety, and “Volcelest blanc”, a blend of Sauvignon Gris and Riesling from Domaine Jean-Yves Millaire.
