These forgotten grape varieties brought back to light in a book

The history of Bordeaux’s grape varieties and the grapes of yesteryear are chronicled by Jean-Baptiste Duquesne. The winemaker has just published a book (« Bordeaux, une histoire de cépages », €19 from BBD Éditions) in which he compiles ‘as exhaustive an inventory as possible of the grape varieties that have existed in Bordeaux. A heritage that could prove invaluable in preparing for the future of our region’s wines’.
